The Cairns Crocs Committee 2019 is excited to hold the first event for 2019. We are trying something different this year, running a short sharp Aquathlon, but doing 2 races in the one day.
On the morning of the race the Race Director and Race Referee will do an inspection of the course and manage any risks accordingly. We sincerely hope you all have a great race, lots of fun, support your fellow competitors, respect and thank all the volunteers who have given up their time to allow you to race and we hope you achieve every single one of your racing goals!
This is a new event for 2019, the idea is to have 2 short sharp races in the one day. A short swim and a short run, with 2 races on the same day.
Race 1 will be a Swim, then Run, Then swim. There will be a break after the race, then race 2 will follow. Race 2 will be a Run followed by a Swim then a Run.
Juniors/Kids Aquathlon – (7-13 age) Race 1 (100m Swim/500m Run/100m Swim) & Race 2 (500m Run/100m Swim/500m Run)
Aquathlon – (13+ age) – Race 1 (375m Swim/3k Run/375m Swim) & Race 2 (3k Run/375m Swim/3k Run)
We are not planning to time this race, as it is designed to be a fun event rather that a competitive event.
There will be a free BBQ After the event, on the lawn of the day use area. Please hang around and let us know what you think of the event.
Wetsuits will not be allowed for the swim.
